Final Images: Hillhurst

Here are the final images from the home we recently completed close to downtown Calgary, a stunning infill on a 50' wide lot, hope you enjoy!

{foyer}
This is a center hall design with the media room off to the right when you enter through the custom front door and the dining room to the left.

{entry & dining room}
 The clients wanted definition between the front foyer and the back portion of the home, instead of using the double French doors that were drawn on the plans we went with an oak stained opening which gives them the separation they were wanting. The image on the right is of the butlers pantry that is tucked in nicely between he dining room & the kitchen.

 {kitchen}
We had a nasty beam that we had to work around in the kitchen, our amazing finishing carpenter did a fantastic job concealing it with shaker panels and crown molding. Love the tones and feelings that this space has!

 {great room}
 The great room is right across from the kitchen, a modern sleek style 60" fireplace was used with natural stone surround and built-ins on each side.

{his & hers offices}
 This is the 'Hers' office that is next to the kitchen and across from the kitchen nook, it will act as a toy/play room while the little ones are still little.

'His' office it located at the back of the home and features custom oak cabinetry, dark & manly, just they way he wanted it.

 {mud room}
 Love this mud room! While I prefer the open lockers the clients wanted to be able to hide the mess. We took advantaged of the taller ceilings and have extended the cabinets to accommodate 2 large baskets above each unit.

{ensuite}
This ensuite design was small and compact but we still have a lot of style going on in the space. The walls surround the tub are split face slate and give the 'spa feel' the client was looking for. They loved the industrial pendants that I hung above my boys vanity so we incorporated a similar look here with pendants from Restoration Hardware. The shower was just stunning, in the image is comes off a bit more grey than it actually was, it has more of a creamy tone to.

{laundry room}
The washer & dryer were coming with the clients when they moved in so those holes under the stained counter are for them. She really fell in love with my green laundry room but this was connected to the ensuite, so we had to ensure that the colors worked together. We ended up continuing the floor tile and then opted for a fun green on the wall, still bright & happy...what you need in a laundry room!

 {main bath 1}
This is for the girls, so imagine injections of pink once they get settled. We also ordered my beloved Cole & Sons woods paper...but since my installer is on a beach till April that is having to wait. We went with the same floor design I have in my boys bath and incorporated the black pencil liners to the tub surround (you can see that in the reflection from the mirror).
{girls room}
Hey HOT LIPS, that is what the color is called, and.i.love.it. I used the same color in my nieces nursery back in Missouri (which we will finish this summer). The Ikea pendant cast fun shadows that will let the little minds wonder & create.

There are a few more images on on Houzz that you can see HERE. Hope you enjoyed this latest project, up next is Altadore I! BTW, great giveaway coming your way tomorrow...stay tuned! Mel xo
