Sarah's House Week 9

This week the master bedroom and at first glance I love it! Take a walk through the room with me...

The beautiful chandelier adds romance to the room and the subtle colors create a soothing environment. The one thing I could have done without would have been the 4 poster bed, I just find them intrusive, no matter the size of the room.

While everything works beautifully together I do have one questions, how many people do you really need to sit in your master bedroom??

The decor on the fireplace mantle and the picture arrangement above is simple and elegant.

Here is what Sarah does best again, a great combination of fun fabrics that most would never think of pairing together. Easy way to add punch to a room.

Overall I really enjoyed this room and this past weeks episode. Makes me want to go out and find some fun fabrics for the new home!!

Busy like a bee...

Needless to say I am insanely busy...busy like a bee. Between our home, clients we are building for, and the clients that I am consulting with via the Internet I can't seem to sit and get too deep into blog world right now. With that being the case here are some inspirational images that I love, enjoy!!!

I adore the barrel arched ceiling and the use of windows in this great room. Do I necessarily love the mantle surround...no. It would make one great conversations starter though!

To me this is one of the most beautiful rooms I have seen on the Internet in a long time. The vaulted ceilings, stone work, window usage, all of it. Grab a glass of vino and join me later tonight here...

Two different takes on a stairwell, one modern and the other more traditional. I love them both!!

And the bed...oh how I wish I could stay in either of these beds past my 6am wake up call...

Sarah's House week 2

This week in the second episode of Sarah's House on HGTV Canada she focused on the master & main bedroom. Beautiful transformations once again, especially the master bedroom.

Stunning, serene, calm; that is how I would describe this master bedroom. One thing I admire Sarah for is her knack at fabric selections. She always hits the nail on the head and this room is proof.

The way that the chair rail follows the height on the 2 side walls breaks the taller wall up nicely, you are not entering the room with a big splash of color right in your face. I also love how there are 2 separate curtain rods for the windows rather than one large one.

The following images are from the main bedroom in the home. A lot of the items found were fantastic flea market finds. How I would love to find a flea market that had such wonderful items, I would need a semi-truck to get it all home!!!

When a room is large enough and it allows for a perfect little area like this take advantage of it! How warm and inviting would a sitting area be for guest, complete with ample pillows and sconces for reading light.
