Right from the beginning of our evaluation, we noticed their neat, compact design and excellent aesthetic appeal. Therefore, it’s not a wonder that the Levoit Core 300 won an award for its exceptional design. The Levoit Core 300 flaunts a white finish while its P350 counterpart features a matte, light gray exterior.

  • The two air cleaners feature the same compact design that allows them to fit snugly in constricted spaces
  • Their lightweight construction supports easy transportation from one room to another
  • Both air purifiers flaunt a 360 degrees air intake situated at the bottom of the unit. The air output grill is located at the top of the device.

IN-DEPTH OBSERVATIONS:

  • While both Levoit air purifiers provide a 12-month warranty, the Core P350 outshines the Core 300 with a 90-day money-back guarantee. This indicates that the manufacturer has a little more faith in their newer creation.
  • There is a minor design difference regarding the display lock feature on the two devices. On the Core 300, the icon is a padlock while the Core P350 has a paw print.
  • The Levoit P350 comes with a non-woven fabric pre-filter, which is significantly different from the nylon pre-filter on the Core 300

Coverage and Performance

Both the Levoit Core 300 and P350 boast a large CFM/CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) that comes in handy for allergy and asthma sufferers.

The two air cleaners can purify a large room measuring up to 215 sq. ft. and 219 sq. ft., respectively. When assessing their filtration efficiency, we found that neither unit outperforms the other considerably.

  • Neither the Core 300 nor the Core P350 draws power excessively; both consume 45 watts. Their power requirement doesn’t exceed that of your laptop.
  • Both units come with a check-filter indicator that lights up when it’s time to replace the filters
  • We admire the auto-shutoff timer on both devices, which gives you significant control over your unit’s operation. The timer allows you to select among the four intervals of 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours. Thanks to this feature, you can rest easy knowing that your unit won’t continue using your electricity even when your indoor atmosphere is thoroughly clean.
  • The child-lock feature on the Core 300 and pet-lock function in the Core P350 comes in handy when looking to protect your unit’s settings from the curious touch of your kids or pets.
  • These units come with a display-off button that eliminates the light that usually emanates from the control panel. This feature will, especially, come in handy at night when you’re looking to catch some sleep without disrupting illumination.
  • The QUIETKEAP technology allows both Levoit air cleaners to operate unobtrusively with a noise level of 24dB on the low mode and 50dB on the highest fan speed.
  • In addition to the QUIETKEEP technology, both units use the VortexAir technology that significantly enhances their prowess in purifying your indoor air.

Key Highlight:

We observed a slight difference regarding odor removal between the two air cleaners.

  • The Core P350 utilizes the Arc formula to gain a little more air purifying advantage over the Core 300. This technology makes the P350 a greater capacity to break down the foul odors associated with pets, cooking, and smoking without creating second-hand pollution.
  • The Core P350 boasts a better CADR rating, which means that it creates a stronger airflow than the Core 300. This explains the slight difference in the two units’ room coverage of 219 sq. ft. and 215 sq. ft., respectively.

Mode of Operation and Filtration

The Levoit Core 300 and Core P350 use four methods of operation, including sleep mode, as well as low, medium, and high fan speed. Neither of these units has an auto mode, which means that you will need to adjust the fan speeds as your indoor air quality changes.LEVOIT-Air-Purifier-Core-300-Filter

  • Sleep Mode: Allows the unit to operate at the lowest noise level and dims the LED lights on the control panel when you’re sleeping
  • Low fan speed: This is suitable for small rooms that require quiet purification
  • Medium fan speed: This speed is for the average room purification requirements
  • High fan speed: This mode will come in handy when looking to clean large, highly polluted rooms quickly. The high speed is the loudest to run.

Both air cleaners utilize a robust 3-stage filtration system that eliminates differently-sized airborne particles.

  • The fine pre-filter comes in handy when looking to eliminate large particles like pet hair, dust, and pet dander from your indoor air
  • The HEPA filter goes a long way in removing tiny airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns
  • The Activated carbon filter is designed to capture household odors from cooking, pets, and cigarette smoke.

Setup and Usability

Setting either the Levoit Core 300 or Core P350 is a piece of cake thanks to their simplistic design:LEVOIT-Air-Purifier-Core-300-Living-room

  • Remove the unit from the box
  • Separate the shell from the base by twisting it counterclockwise
  • Get the plastic bag off the filter
  • Twist the body to reinstate it to its rightful position

Both the Levoit Core 300 and P350 feature an easy-tap control panel located on the top section of the unit. You can’t miss any of the control features; they’re set in a circle around the on/off button. With the strategic positioning of the touch-screen LEDs, you can swiftly turn the unit on/off, modify the fan speed, and activate the sleep mode, the 8-hour timer, and the child lock.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Both the Core 300 and P350 come with a filter indicator that reminds you to replace the filters when they’re timeworn and inefficient. The filters on both units will last for approximately 6-8 months. Replacing the filters is pretty easy; it shouldn’t take you more than ten minutes. Unscrew the cover situated at the bottom of the unit and plug in a new filter before replacing the shield.

Our Tips:

  • The replacement filters are relatively inexpensive. However, there is a $1 difference between the cost; those in the P350 are a tad costlier.
  • When replacing the filters, the Core 300 gives you three options from which you can choose while the Core P350 restricts you to a single filter type
  • To ensure that your air cleaner is operating at peak performance, you will also want to regularly wipe down the air intake and outlet grills. This is easily accomplished with a dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Ensure to clean the pre-filter every 2-4 weeks for enhanced efficiency. This will also extend the usable life of your filter. You can perform the cleanup with a soft brush or vacuum hose, which will go a long way in eliminating pet hair and dust, among other large particles.

Key Take-away

When testing the Levoit Core 300 and Core P350 air purifiers, we observed that both units are excellent entry-level candidates. Both air cleaners perform remarkably well; neither unit flaunts a significant advantage over the other regarding features and efficiency.

However, we couldn’t overlook the fact that the P350 is better suited to deal with odors, including those from cooking, cigarette smoke, and pets, which is attributable to its unique ARC formula. The Core P350 also boasts a competitive edge when it comes to room coverage.

While the Core 300 is cheaper than its P350 counterpart, we are, nonetheless, persuaded to conclude that the Levoit Core P350 is the better unit among the two. You, therefore, shouldn’t hesitate to add the extra $20 and purchase the P350, especially if you’re scouting for a deodorizing air purifier.
