Potential Possibilities & Solutions

Every component must be placed in its respective place for your juice extractor to work appropriately.

Breville Juicers come with instructions that facilitate easy assembly of the appliance before use. Nonetheless, the setup process might prove challenging initially, but it becomes easy with time as you become familiar with your unit. For instance, you might switch your juice extractor on, but it won’t work without a juicer cover and the safety locking arm placed in a vertical position.

Tip: Before assembling your Breville juicer for the first time, it’s imperative to remove and safely discard any promotional labels and packaging materials. Clean the filter frame, juicer cover, juice disc, food pusher, pulp container, and jug lid with warm, soapy water and a nylon brush or soft cloth. Rinse your juicer thoroughly and let it dry.

If you turn your Breville juicer on and nothing happens.

Potential Cause: You may have incorrectly engaged safety locking arm. The arm could also be entirely disengaged. When the locking arm is wrongly locked in, the LCD illuminates and flashes, indicating the letter ‘L.’ (Note: LCD illumination is not present for all of Breville juicers).

Solution: To engage the locking arm correctly, ensure that you snap it into the two grooves provided on either side of the appliance’s cover. The safety locking arm should be placed in a vertical position on the juicer lid. Once it has been locked incorrectly, the LCD will illuminate and display your selected speed setting. You may now attempt the juicing process once again.

If the motor stalls, your Breville juicer will stop operating automatically. This is due to the electronic safety feature comprising the unit.

Potential Cause: The motor might stall either because you have loaded ingredients that are not cut small enough or when you’re processing too much load.

Solution: To avoid this, try processing smaller amounts of produce at once or chopping the ingredients into small pieces of even sizes.

Like overheating, the red light surrounding the on/off button will start flashing when the motor stalls. To restart the juicing process, switch off the power outlet and clean the feed chute. Finally, switch the unit back on at the power source.

From time to time, your Breville juicer’s motor might appear to be stalling due to pulp buildup.

If the backlog is under the juicer cover, you should slow the juicing process by feeding the produce at a lower rate. When done juicing, disassemble the appliance and clean the stainless steel filter basket, filter bowl, and juicer cover. Remember to also check for any food remnants in the blades and feeding tube, and wipe these components thoroughly before using your juicer again.

Breville Juicers come with a safety feature responsible for safeguarding the appliance from excessively overloading the machine.

Potential Cause: When you load the unit with too much produce, it automatically activates the overload protection function, prompting the juicer to shut off.

Note: Do not allow the pulp container to overfill as this may affect the operation of the appliance.

Solution: Turn the machine off at the power source and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Press the overload protection button situated at the bottom of the motor base (as shown in the picture below). The safety device will reset, and the appliance will be all set to process your favorite drink.

Breville Juicers come with an automatic self-resetting safety device, which protects the machine from overheating.

Potential Cause: High temperatures occur in the motor when you load the juicer with excess ingredients or engage your machine for a prolonged period, prompting it to activate the safety device and consequently switch off automatically.

Solution: If the unit is over heated you may notice the light around the start button starts flashing red. At this stage, you should unplug the juicer from its power source and plug it back on after at least 15 minutes, and proceed with juicing.

Potential Cause: Breville Juicers come with a built-in fuse that protects the motor from overheating and damage. If the appliance is entirely inoperable or it’s not turning on, the culprit could be a blown-out fuse. A fuse will usually blow when excess current is sent to the motor.

  • WARNING: Before you begin to troubleshoot any further, it is recommended to unplug the juicer from power source.

Solution: To determine whether you have a blown-out fuse. Remove the base of the juicer to locate the fuse. Once you find the fuse, check if it is blown (as shown below). Use a fuse holder to remove the old fuse and replace it with a new identical one.

If your Breville Juicer isn’t working, you must first ensure that the power outlet button is on. Also, check the electrical cord for corroded or broken wires. If everything is okay, then it might be your power source.

Use another appliance to test for the power source’s functionality; for instance, you could plug your phone charger into the same outlet. If the alternative device fails to work, the chances are that the problem isn’t with your juicer but with your power source. Ideally, have the power source fixed or use the juicer on a different outlet.

If your Breville juicer is extracting juice too rapidly, there are two likely outcomes. The extract will either leak in between the cover and the rim or spray from the sprout. This will affect the juicing process, and in some cases, the juicer will stop working.

The first solution is to place your ingredients in the feed chute at a slower pace. If that doesn’t work, you could also lower the processing rate using the speed setting button.

Bottom Line

Regardless of the capacity and size, every Breville Juicer machine is built to last with durable state-of-the-art features. Nonetheless, some malfunctions might come up unexpectedly, making your juicing appliance unusable.

If your Breville juicer doesn’t work, the possible culprits could be a disengaged locking arm, stalled motor, pulp buildup, or overheating. Also, you could be having a blown-out fuse or a faulty wall outlet. If the above tips prove fruitless or you’re unable to understand the issue, contact a technician for professional assistance.
